The warmest bag we have ever built. The Hibernate 1100 carries 1,100 g/m² of HIBERNATE® Elite insulation per surface — roughly twenty percent more than our Montana −30, on the same oversize 96 × 44 inch pattern.

Why offset stitching matters

Most bags quilt straight through. Every stitch line is a place where the insulation is squeezed to nothing and the cold comes through. We build two independent layers and stagger the seams of the second between the seams of the first, so no stitch line passes straight through the bag. There is no cold seam anywhere in it.

About the rating

There is no mandatory temperature standard below −4°F, so anyone can print any number on a label. We would rather show our work. −40°F is a construction specification derived from our published loading and loft, benchmarked against our Montana −30. Compare the numbers above against anything else on the market.
